Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AVERY smart exhibit on this stand is the half-ton van as supplied to the General Post Office finished in the usual, shade of red, a large number of which has been built. The same model is shown in a somewhat different form, this being a half-ton van built to the order of Garr and Co., Ltd. There is also a Cowley traveller's car mounted on a similar chassis, consisting of a two-seater body with a box behind, which provides ample accommodation for the carrying of samples, parcels, etc.

The stand is completed by the wellknown Cowley chassis, shown in stripped form, which, of course, resembles very closely the Morris-Cowley private car chassis, but is modified in a few respects to carry additional loads. The engine, which is of the four-cylinder type with the cylinder block and crankcase cast in one piece, has a bore and stroke of 69 mm. aud 102 isim. respec tively, and is constructed as a unit with a three-forward-speed gearbox with central control. The transmission system consists of an enclosed propeller shaft and a spiral-bevel final drive. A feature only recently introduced found in the gear operating the fou wheel brakes, this consisting of a simp form of compensation. employing spro kets and lengths of roller chain. Or end of the chain is coupled with ti pedal, the other end, after it has bee wrapped round the sprocket, bein coupled to the front brakes, whilst tl sprocket itself is carried on the forke end of the rod operating the rear whet brakes.

Easy adjustments are provided ft clutch, brakes and the rake of the sten ing column. Another feature noticeabl on this chassis is the neat grouping c the instruments on an oval pane flanked at each side by a cubby hole, th complete facia board unit being built u behind the scuttle tank. The svhol chassis looks very smart and workmai like, and is finished in red, black an aluminium, a combination which is ver pleasing to the eye.
