Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THERE are several' models which have not previously been exhibited on the Laftly stand, tone being the new model TB. road sweeper mounted on pneumatic tyres, which has proved very successful. This is a four-Wheeled. vehicle with a brush of split bamboo fibre which is rotated through the medium of bevel gears and a chain from a shaft driven separately from the gearbox. A. 66-gallon water tank is mounted above the brush, and water is supplied as a fine spray under pressure along the whole length of the brush by means of a pump. The suspension of the brush, which, incidentally, is placed at an angle of 30 degrees, is independent of the main suspension, so that the pressure on the roadway can readily be adjusted as required. All the conteols are conveniently located, and the brush is thrown in or out of action automatically.

Another interesting exhibit is the new six-wheeled vehicle with rigid frame, shown carrying a 32-seater body, in which only the foremast of the two rear axles is actually engine-driven, the other merely helping to support the load. This is fitted with a four-cylinder power unit having bore and stroke of 90 mm. and 180 mm. respectively, the wheelbase being 16 ft. 6 ins, and the track 5 ft. 3 ins, at the front and 5 ft: 1i ins, the rear ; 34-in. by 7-in, pneumatic tj are fitted to all wheels. 'The elm: weight is 54 Cwt., and there are brakes in all ; the body is of the 28seater single-deck type.

Another' new model exhibited is a seater' passenger chassis which is simi to the preViouS passenger chas. but has an extended wheelbase (14 ins.) and a lower frame. The spec cation includes a four-cylinder engi similar to that fitted to the six-whet -a spiral-bevel axle and a Bosch c stant voltage electric system, which eludes tt .starter motor. Six brakes . fitted in All, and the wheels carry 34by 74n.. giant pneumatic tyres.

The exhibit is completed by a 2i-1 'commercial chassis for passenger serv or rapid goods delivery, the specifi tion of which is similar to that j, described, -but for 'the. fact that wheelbaseis 12 ft. 9-1ins.. A simi chassis fitted with a light but rem delivery body is also shown.
