Sir William Black, who is depnty chairman of the Leyland Motor Corporation, has now also joined the board of Leyland Motors Ltd., StandardTriumph International Ltd. and West Yorkshire Foundries Ltd, Two other members of the parent board, Mr. Stanley Markland and Mr. Donald G. Mr, J. A. V. Watson has been appointed managing director of Castrol Industrial Ltd. and Mr. A. A. Barr has joined the board of this company. Mr. Watson and Mr. Barr are the joint managing directors of Castro]. Ltd., parent company of the Group.

Mr. C. J. Parker, general manager, warehouse and transport services, for Boots Pure Drug Co. Ltd. at the Nottingham headquarters since 1946, is to retire on March 31. He will be succeeded by his deputy, Mr. K. W. Thorndyke, who was formerly manager of the Island Street group of warehouses from 1946.

Mr. H. W. Dangerfield has been elected chairman of the Stroud sub-area of 'the Road Haulage Association and Mr. IL J. R. Down as chairman of the Frome sub-area. Vice-chairman of Stroud is Mr. V. Young and Mr. A. T. Butler is vice-chairman of Frome.

Mr. Stephen Bennett has been appointed chairman of the board of British Timken. He has been managing director of this division of the Timken Roller Bearing Company since 1959, and will continue in that capacity. He is also a director of the Timken Roller Bearing Company of the United States of America.

Mr. I. Selby, area sales manager in the Manchester area for David Brown Industries Ltti, was last week presented with a gold watch in recognition of his 50 years' service with the company.
