THERE has been a "full and effective programme of road construction arid improvement" in Scotland, the Secretary of State for Scotland George Younger, has said.
Speaking at the British Aggregate Construction Materials Industries lunch last weekhe announced that he was allocating :159in to road construction and improvements in 1983-86.
He said that he had taken full account of the priorities expressed by local authorities. He said by allocating the £159m "we have continued to attach importance to road construction".
