• Xtra Incorporated of Bosto. Massachusetts — the American transpo equipment, manufacturing and leasir company — has placed a £1.2m ord, with British manufacturers for a mixe fleet of 230 and 4011 skeletal chassi 12-metre TIR tilt and platform contain trailers. First deliveries from an initi, order of 220 with Taskers of Andov< are due to take place by the end this month.
This order marks the first full-sea entry by Xtra into the European trail< leasing ..market. It results from the networ of agents built up by its European genen agent, Europact (Leasing).
Although to a large extent Xtra known in Europe as a container leasir company, it is in fact primarily concerne with trailer leasing.
Xtra claims that it will eventually provic — in conjunction with Europact — `tl most modern and efficient multi-nation leasing service in Europe".
