Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

may operate a vehicle under the farmer's licence?

Is there a limit to the distance I may travel?

Although I have been driving lorries occasionally for 70 years I have not been employed as such. My licence which includes heavy locomotives (Group 1) expires next June, Will I have to take the hgv test after June? If so, do I need 1' plates and an experienced driver to accompany me?

AThe maximum weight of vehicle which

may operate under the farmer's goods licence(which is a reduced rate excise licence) is 32 tons gross; this is the maximum for any normal type of load-carrying vehicle allowed at present in this country.

There is no limit to the distance you may travel with your own goods.

You will have to take the hgv driving test but provided you do this before your existing licence expires you will' not need 'L' plates or to be accompanied by a qualified driver. If you have not passed the sest when your existing licence expires you will need these.
