the Potteries Area of the T.R.T.A. will be held at the Grand Hotel. Hanley, on February 25, when Mr. G. Turvey, assistant national secretary, will talk on " Continental Operation ".
Profit Up: The group profit for the Proprietors of Hay's Wharf Ltd, for the year ended September 30, 1962; was £903,957 (e.547,345 in 1961); net profit was £474.553 (038,400).
Dipped Headlights: The National Council of Traders' Road Transport Association has decided there is insufficient information available as a result of the dipped headlights campaign in Birmingham on which to form conclusions. The Council has deferred consideration of this matter until the end of the experimental period when full -information and statistics will be available.
Street Name-plates: The Minister of Transport is asking local authorities throughout England and Wales to consider whether the standard of street name-plates in their areas is sufficiently high and if not to remedy defects. It is recommended that they should be fixed near 'street corners and not less than two feet from the ground, needing to be visible at night from a vehicle with its lights on.
West Midland T.R.T,A.: Speakers at the annual general meeting of the West Midland Division of the T.R.T.A. at the White Horse Hotel, Birmingham, on April 8, will be Mr, John Else, West Midland Licensing Authority, and Mr. H. R. Featherstone, T.R.T.A. national secretary.
