AFTER reserving decision in order to view the area as a whole, on applications by a number of Liverpool excursion and tour operators forgreater vehicle allowances in the summer (The Commercial Motor, September 21. October 12; and December 14), the North Western Traffic .Commissioners have granted increases asfollows:— Kenilworth Tours. Ltd., Litherland: from one to two from June to October.
T. Lawrenson,. Ltd., Bootie: Three to four on Sundays to Fridays, and • from five to six during holiday periods from the end of June until the end of Blackpool Illuminations,
G. Peascod, Ltd., Liverpool: one extra vehicle on each of th-ree licences during Easter and Whitsun, the last two weeks in July and the first two weeks in August.
A. Wright, Ltd., Liverpool: From four to five during the last two weeks in July and the first two Weeks in August, and at Bank Holiday week ends. .
Peat-sons of Liverpool, Ltd.: From one to two at Easter, Whitsun, and during July and August, the additional vehicle not to be used on excursions to Blackpool or Morecambe_
EDINBURGH STATION OPENING
ATWO-DAY exhibition of buses and coaches is to be held on the site by Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., to coincide with the opening of their new bus station at St. Andrew Square, Edinburgh. The opening ceremony will be performed by the Countess of Minto on April 5.
SILVER ARROW FARES UP
HIGHER fuel costs are given as the 'reason for an increase of about 5 per cent, in the fares on the Silver Arrow coach-air-rail services to Paris and Brussels, which will be resumed in the spring. The coach link in the services, run by Silver City Airways, is provided by the East Kent Road Car Co., Ltd.
