Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A COACH driver who claimed loss of I—I income because his driving licence was wrongfully detained by the local licensing authority has received 410 compensation, followine negotiations conducted on his behalf by the Auto

mobile Association. .

The driver produced his licence for renewal the day before he was due to answer a summons for speeding in another part of' the country, and to which he intended to plead guilty. The authority held the licence in order to enter the endorsement which would automatically follow, but neglected to notify the court, with the result that the magistrates ordered a driving disqualification for 14 days because of the failure of the driver to produce the licence.
