Services had lost Hull-Glasgow traffic to Hull and Glasgow Road Carriers, Ltd., Hull, on the question of • rates was made by Mr. T. B. Atkinson, for the British Transport Commission,

before • the Yorkshire Licensing Authority at Bridlington on Monday.

Mr. Paterson stated that a discontinuation by B.R.S. of their HullGlasgow nightly trunk service, had added to the company's difficulties. Mr. Atkinson said that B.R.S. were still working from Glasgow and Hull.

Evidence of the inadequacy of railway services was also given, and it was stated that hired haulage could not meet demands.

BIG 'BODIES FOR LEYLANDS

TWO types of body will be built on 300 Leyland Worldmaster chassis being supplied to Netherlands Railways. Designed by the operators, onestyle will have a front door and seat 48 forward-facing passengers. The other type will have two doors with provision for 25 standing pasiengers and 45 seated, some of whom will face the rear.

All bodies will be of integral construction, 130 being produced by Verheul and the remainder by Werkspoor and other companies. Kerb weight of the vehicles is estimated at about 8 tons. Specification includes Pneu mo-Cyclic gearboxes and 125 b.p.b. engines.
