Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PARCEL GIANT UPS has no place on its UK management team for David Burtenshaw, former chief executive of Lynx Express. UPS bought Lynx in July for £55.5m and has just revealed who will manage the amalgamated business. Burtenshaw is not among the names on the board.

Current UK MD Bill Caplan will be taking responsibility for the combined operations. He says: "The structure of UPS UK and Ireland will continue to evolve over the coming months as work by the UPS/Lynx Express integration team progresses and additional decisions are made."

Lynx's personnel director, international director and controller have all been given new roles at UPS.

A UPS spokeswoman reports: "David Burtenshaw stepped down in his role as Lynx chief executive since the company was acquired by UPS [earlier] this year, but will continue with the expanded company, playing a key role in the integration process."

There is still no news from UPS about any rationalisation amongst drivers working at its merged networks.
