Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A HAULAGE boss who was well over the drink-driving limit when he drove his truck dangerously through the streets of South London has had his driving ban more than halved by top judges.

Michael Cully from Luton,Beds was jailed for 12 months at Kingston Crown Court in August after pleading guilty to dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink. He was about twoand-a-half times over the limit.

Cully appealed against a fiveyear driving ban and an order to take an extended driving test.

London's Criminal Appeal Court this week cut the ban to two years and quashed the extended re-test order.

'Lilly's barrister. Jonathan Mitchell, contended that a long disqualification period would put Cully's own livelihood at risk and that of his six drivers.

Mr Justice Langstaff concluded there was no appreciable risk to the public if Cully continued to drive: "The offence may be regarded as a one-off incident, probably out of character."

He noted that Cully's firm "was large enough to have substantial contracts.., but not so large as to survive easily without his own input as driver as well as administrator."

He was arrested in November last year after his at-tic left a trail of destruction across South London. He ignored repeated demands to stop and ended up in Battersea driving on the wrong of the road.
