THE LATEST section of the new A9 in Scotland has recently been opened. It is an eight-mile stretch of single carriageway by-passing Kingussie and Newtonmore, and running to the east of the River Spey. The opening of this section means that well over two-thirds of the new road from Perth to Inverness is in use.
