Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

kGE carriage revisions by Midland Red in the Coalville and adlincote areas of Leicestershire based on the company's rket analysis project are designed to make the network viable h a profit of around one per cent.

'his was said by R. Hind, company's divisional )erintendent, when the isions were considered by East Midland Traffic Corn;sioners sitting in Leicester. kiginally the company had ed opposition from Leicesshire, Staffordshire, and rbyshire County Councils; rth West Leicestershire and ickley and Bosworth Dis:t Councils and Lutterworth wn Council. liking Motors (Burton) Ltd and Victoria Motorways Ltd had also objected.

However said, Mr Hind, three months of negotiations had secured the withdrawal of all except the Hinkley and Bosworth objection.

The other local authorities had been satisfied when the details of the proposals were fully explained and they number of timing changes were made at their behalf, Nothing had been done, however, that altered the proposals in any material way or affected the proposals in any projected financial results.

As far as Viking Motors and Victorian Motorways were concerned, talks were taking place over the co-ordination of services.

Hinkley and Bosworth were concerned about the proposal to operate into the Church Farm housing estate, and the withdrawal of a service into Ratby.

Mr Hind told the Commissioners that the Church Farm estate proposal was being dropped because of local opposition and as far as Ratby was concerned, any need would be met by the operation of two new services.

Granting the proposals in respect of all services apart from four in the Burton-onTrent area, the chairman, C. M. Sheridan, said the Commissioners were satisfied that the alternative proposed to the Ratby service was a reasonable one.

They reserved decisions on the Burton services until proposed revisions in that area have been considered by the West Midland Traffic Commissioners.
