Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

kr UK hauliers have been praised for their speedy response to an appeal to deliver sandbags to flood-hit eastern Germany.

Grantham-based John lee (Sacks) agreed to supply 800,000 sandbags to the German flood defence authority within 48 hours but found none of its regular hauliers could help.

An appeal on BBC local and national radio resulted in the company's phone line becoming "white hot", according to Lee's finance director Ian Thompson.

"I did not realise so many people were running traffic to and from mainland Europe," he says. "We had about 20 offers from as far afield as Scotland and the south coast. Everyone was keen to help."

The seven-truck consignment was delivered by a Continentalbased agency that was looking for backloadsto Germany.
