five vehicles (27 tons 16 cwt.), from British Road Services 'has been made by Messrs. R. and W. Febry, Yate Iron Works, Chipping Sodbury. Mr. F. T. Collier, 4 Factory Lane, Chippenham, has also acquired two vehicles (6 tons 12 cwt.); Mr. W. Rich, Dellerich, East Street, Crediton, two (54 tons); Messrs. Goulding Bros., Stroud Road, .Nailsworth, three (8 tons 11 cwt.), and Taymac, Ltd., 144 High Street, Wootton Bassett, four (11 tons 6 cwt.).

SOUTH WALES THEATRE SERVICE APPEAL FAILS

AN appeal by a South Wales operator against the South Wales Licensing Authority's refusal to grant him licences for express services to theatres, has been rejected by the Minister of Transport.

The operator was Mr. C. E. Lane, Pengam, Mon, and the proposed services were from New Tredegar, Deni and Hollybush to the Lyceum Theatre, Newport, New Theatre, Cardiff, and the Town Hall Theatre, Pontypridd.

The Minister has also rejected the appeal of the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., against the North Western Licensing Authority's decision to allow Mayfair Coaches (Manchester), Ltd., to run additional excursions and tours from the Airport Hotel, Heyhead, to Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno, and to permit passengers travelling to or from Rhyl and Colwyn Bay at period return fares only to be carried in vehicles travelling to Llandudno.

Costs will be borne by the appellants, LEEDS LOSES 164,392 MORE

ANET loss of £64,392 was incurred in the year ended March 3! last by Leeds Transport Department. Mr. A. 13: Findlay, general manager, told the transport committee on Monday that the accumulated deficit was now over £434,000.
