AN OPERATOR given a chance to put his house in order at a public inquiry has had his licence revoked after a further maintenance inspection showed "little or no improvement".

West Bromwich-based MohammedYagoob, tracling as Asia Yacjoob Halal Meat Co, was called before the West Midland Traffic Commissioner David Dixon. Yaqoob was also disqualified from holding an 0lice nce for 12 months.

In August 2003 Yaqoob's licence was curtailed from two vehicles to one for four weeks because of maintenance problems. Yaq oob undertook to introduce a daily driver nil-defect reporting system and to have a forward planner.

Maintenance was again an issue at the latest inquiry. After it was said there was no evidence that a delayed prohibition issued in November 2005 had been cleared before the vehicle was presented for annual test in May,Yagoob maintained he could produce the clearance certificate. He claimed things had been put right since the vehicle examiner's visit (CM 6July).

Reserving decision pending a further visit by the vehicle examiner, the TC was minded to revoke the licence but there was still some evidence missing. If the fresh report was satisfactory on all points,Yagoob might be able to avoid revocation.

The inspection showed little or no improvement. Revoking the licence and disqualifying Yaclooh, the TC said he saw no reason to depart from the provisional conclusion he had reached at the hearing.
