The Meter Cars (Driving Instruction) (Amendment) Regulations 2000. CIF 1 August 2000. Amend requirements and introduce new conditions for applicants wishing to become approved driving instructors.
The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations 2000. CIF 30 August 2000. Require poweroperated lifts or ramps fitted to certain passenger vehicles to sound an alarm when in operation.
The Motor Vehicles (Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2000. CIF 18 August 2000. Amend regulations (3) and (5) of the 1996 regulations by redefining vehicle categories specified in Schedule 1. The Road Traffic Reduction Act 1997 (Commencement) (England and Wales) Order 2000. CIF 10 March 2000. This order brings into force the 1997 Act in respect of England and Wales.
The Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2000. CIF 20 April 2000. Introduce references to recent EC directives into the Table in Schedule 1to the 1998 Type Approval regulations.
The Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) Regulations 2000. CIF 3 April 2000. Amend the Road Traffic Act 1988 for motor insurance to include car parks and other public places within the scope of the regulations.
The Motor Fuel (Composition and Content) Regulations 1999. CIF 10 December 1999. Lay down requirements as to the chemical content of motor fuels and include the prohibition of sale of leaded petrol, with certain exceptions which are controlled by the use of permits.
The Motor Vehicles (Approval) (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations 1999. CIF 31 December 1999. Further amend the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996 for vehicles entering into service in very low numbers, and rebuilt vehicles.
The Road Vehicles (Brake Linings Safety) Regulations 1999. CIF 24 November 1999. Implement EC Directive 98/12 laying down standards for asbestos-free brake linings and prohibiting their supply or fitting, except in certain cases.
The Courses for Drink-Drive Offenders (Experimental Period) (Termination of Restrictions) Order 1999. CIF 31December 1999. The removal of the restrictions referred to enables a court to make an order for a convicted drinkdriver to attend an approved rehabilitation course.
The International Transport of Goods wider Cover of Till Garnets (Fees) (Amendments) Regulations 2000. CIF 28 June 2000. Increase fees for vehicle inspections and certification relating to T1R design Type Approval.
The Motor Vehicle (Tests) (Amendments) Regulations 2000. CIF 26 June 2000. Revise annual test fees and provide that an examiner is not obliged to carry out exhaust emission tests in cases where vehicle alterations make it impossible for him to take the appropriate reading.
The Goods Vehicle (Plating and Testing) Regulations MO. CIF 26 June 2000. Make changes to the fees payable for first examination and subsequent tests, as follows: motor vehicle with two axles, 5.37; trailer with three or more axles, 2.21.A new regulation, 42A, provides for the use of facsimile signatures on certificates.

Introduce the latest (6th) edition of the publication entitled In-service Exhaust Emission Standanis for Road Vehicles. Also insert a new condition to ensure that the roadworthiness of vehicles powered by compression-ignition engines istested in accordance with procedures set out in recent EC directives.
