Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The level of business failures among road transport operators continued to outstrip many other areas of the economy, according to statistics just released. Two courier firms and two hauliers—JM Transport from Derbyshire and JW Pallet Transport from Nuneaton— were the subiect of administrative receivership or administration orders during October, says accountants Deloitte & Touche.

Although there was one fewer failure than in October 1995, the level of receiverships and administration orders in the sector is still high.

In the past 12 months there have been 57 failures in rood transport, compared to just 47 for all of 1995.

For the economy as a whole, business failures are decreasing, with the finance and construction sectors seeing the greatest change.
