. Hauliers are being urged to inform on rivals who break the law by Eastern Licensing Authority Brigadier Compton Boyd.
He wants operators to report "flagrant breaches of the law" in confidence to the Road Haulage Association. Non-RHA members are welcome to call, says district chief Chris Wright. "The industry complains about the cowboys, but one of the difficulties the LAs have is having little information to take action," he explains. "We want to eradicate these people from the industry."
Wright insists that hauliers passing on information will have their identities protected.
