• Hendrickson Europe will launch its lightweight 10-tonne HT230 air-suspended trailer axle in the spring; it is concentrating its marketing efforts on major hauliers and trailer rental companies.
Hendrickson clainv that the axle, which will replace its current 11-tonne model, saves 60kg an axle over many competitors' products.
It has sold 10,000 in the US since its launch 14 months ago: "We are talking to the major trailer buyers rather than the manufacturers," says marketing director Terry Green. "We have to go to the operator end as the manufacturers aren't interested in new products."
