• The University of Newcastle upon Tyne is to hold a symposium on the theme Tomorrow's Bus World from April 15 to 17 inclusive, next year. Five papers will be presented as follows:
"A system for the Automatic Control and Monitoring of Bus Services", by David Stone, chief of vehicle location group, Automation Division, Marconi Ltd.
"An example of computerized duty rosters in operation in a large mixed fleet", by Fred 0. Crouch, Rees Jeffreys Lecturer, and Norman Morton. senior research officer, highway and traffic engineering division, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
"The future of Human Relations in the Bus Industry", E. R. L. Fitzpayne, until recently general manager of Glasgow Corporation Transport.
-Computerized Area Control of Urban Traffic", John Ferguson, resident engineer, Glasgow Area Control Traffic Centre. -The role of the PTE's in Tomorrow's Bus World", T. M. Ridley, director general, Tyneside Passenger Transport Executive. A brochure and application forms will
be circulated later.
