The Northside homepage is jampacked with so much information it is a little disorientating at first glance. Use the horizontal navigation bar at the top to move around the main sections or pick a 'quick ink' from the menu on the left. Alternatively, go straight through to the stock list, click on the words 'Used Vehicles', which are found just above the quick links. Before you do so, check out the used vehicle promotions ranged along the bottom of the homepage. Should one of these vehicles (or the price tag that goes with it) catch your eye, select 'View Promotion' to find out more.
Product search
Within the product search section of the site, the stock list is broken down by make and model. Obviously, with Northside being a Mercedes-Benz dealer, M-B dominates the former category but there was also a Mitsubishi Fuso Canter tipper with an 07 plate for sale at £11,995 (ex-VAT). Incidentally, Mitsubishi Canters are sold through the M-B network in the UK.
The best way, then, to navigate the stock list is to select a specific model. All matching vehicles will then be listed in the centre of the page; for each, the site gives a thumbnail image, price, list of features and condition. We are pleased to see a used vehicle website actually listing prices especially for the heavies.
Should a vehicle catch your eye, click on its image or the corresponding 'more info' link to be taken to the product detail page. This gives further information such as GVW, axle configuration and mileage.
On the product detail page you will also find more photos of your chosen truck or van, including interior and exterior shots. To watch these in the form of a slideshow, click the 'Play' button or use the 'Prey' and 'Next' buttons to scroll through them manually. At the time of writing, there were far more used Sprinters available than any other M-B model, although a handful of Actroses and Ategos were also up for sale.
For the more internet-savvy among us, Northside offers an RSS feed of its used truck news and promotions. Find this in the 'Used Vehicles' section or wherever you see the small, square, orange logo.
Elsewhere on the site you will find information on the dealer's new vehicle sales, vehicle rental service, parts team, aftersales care, and Mercedes-Benz roadside support.
Under the Northside' link on the top navigation menu you are also able to access contact details for the dealer's branches in Bradford, Doncaster, Leeds and Sheffield. There's also Google Maps so you can find your way there. Under each map there is an online enquiry form; use this if you would like Northside to email or phone you back.
