I AM WRITING to say that I agree wholeheartedly with your editorial in CMApril 23, 1983, with reference to the Manpower report stating that there is a shortage of skilled people available! I would be interested to see what their assessment of skilled is.
Having been a professional hgv driver for twelve years, and a Class 1 licence holder for more than ten years, I am one of those willing students prepared not only to study but to pay for my own tuition. I am a CPC holder and in June of this year will sit the entrance exam for membership of the IRTM. Yet in the last twelve months I have written many applications in an effort to further my career in transport management, and in that time I have received just on reply!
