said it has lost £100,000-worth of business after being involved in a dispute with Newham Council over parking fines.
EMT Logistics, based in Beckton, said it had spent the past two years arguing with the council over its ticketing policy on the London industrial park and that it was stepping up the fight by taking legal advice.
Director Michael Mehmet said LGVs parked outside his premises for only a few minutes were being hit with £60 fines, and he was spending money to prove they were issued incorrectly.
A council spokesman said there was a daily ban between 6.30pm and 8am on vehicles weighing more than 5 tonnes and it was "more than happy" to meet with ETM to discuss "the restrictions as they exist at present". He added: "[The council] is aware there is lawful restriction on the street and if it continues to leave lorries unattended with no sign of permitted activity, it will face having penalty charge notices issued to its vehicles."
