DESPITE reports of an impending take-over of the Ewer Group, general manager Mr T. F. McLachlan told CM this week that he was confident the Ewer family would remain in control.
CCH Investments, which holds 28.75 per cent of Ewer's equity, have let it be known that they arewilling to sell. They have been approached by a merchant bank but so far the real buyer has remained in the background.
Ewer Group shares rose sharply two weeks ago but have now fallen back to their original level.
