Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

cluding the Royal Society of Arts, I have failed to find anywhere in the Tamworth, Staffs, area where I can attend classes for the RSA Diploma in Road Transport (Goods). The only college with a transport course is the Mathew Boulton Technical College, Birmingham, where I enrolled for a three-year course but was told when I arrived for the first class that the facility had had to be withdrawn for lack of support. Can you suggest any other local courses of this sort?

A Our education correspondent. Mr. George r-w Wilmot, replies: "I am afraid that the only course in the whole of the West Midlands area taking the RSA Diploma in Road Transport option in goods transport is at the College of Commerce, Stoke Road, Shelton, Stoke-onTrent. The course can, however, be taken by correspondence at the Pitman's Correspondence College, Central House, Park Street, Croydon, CR9 3NQ.

-This poor provision of courses does underline the problem of a national examination trying to provide a national coverage of courses with very small numbers taking the examination. I have indicated for the past two years in Common room the worrying situation that numbers taking the road goods option have been steadily declining."
