Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Proximity to Ipswich, Felixstowe and Harwich docks was a factor in the siting of the new Atlas Express depot at Ipswich, opened on Tuesday by Mr. H. E. Robson, the new Eastern Licensing Authority. The opening of three new depots in a year—Ipswich follows Oxford and Newhaven—reflects the enterprise of the Atlas management and justifies their diversification policy, writes John Darker.

Atlas Air Express, with a firm foothold in the Suffolk area, operates a direct nightly service from London airport, feeding into the world-wide Atlas air freight system. The Atlas Continental services subsidiary, Eurofreight, is also based in the new depot.

The depot was built by Taylor Woodrow Industrial Estates Ltd who are responsible for the industrial estate development on which the depot is sited. On an oblong site some 340ft by 190ft, the depot follows the now familiar Atlas specification. Branch manager at Ipswich is Mr. R. K. Pillay and international activities are the responsibility of Mr. 0. Rooke. The address is: Hadley Road Industrial Estate, Ipswich, Suffolk. Tel.: (UK services) 01P 3 57945. (International services) 01P 3 59758. Telex: All services, 98466.
