Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FREIGHT TRANSPORT Association (FTA) has this week launched a green website, called Sustainable Distribution, to help members cut their carbon footprint.

The site will offer blogs from FTA staff and examples of corporate social responsibility by members. The FTA says Sustainable Distribution will act as a tool for members and it will also highlight the success stories of the logistics industry. James Hookham, FIA deputy chief executive, told CM: "We've been working on ways to help members respond to climate change."

He adds that legislation, such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment, will increasingly put large users of freight under pressure to monitor and improve their environmental impact — and that will lead to changingdemands on transport operators.

"There's an interesting conver sation to be had about understanding customer needs and looking at all the factors that affect CO, output. It's not something that customers or transport operators can do alone."

The FTA's strategic policy and campaign manager, Jo Ingham, says: "We'll be using the website to promote examples of how our members can improve their sustainability as well as cut business costs."
