ROADLINE UK man who :ackled four armed robbers as given a special award in _ondon last week.
National Freight Corporation :hairman Robert Lawrence (now 3ir Robert) presented the twenieth award for meritorious serrice to Cornelius Kenneally, a :hecker /loader at Roadline's 3ermondsey branch in South)ast London.
Mr Kenneally and a colleague vere held at gunpoint by four hieves as they attempted to ;teal consignments of cigarAtes. He overpowered one of he gang, but was defeated by mother.
The award was first preented in 1976, and has been 3iven for such acts of )ravery as fighting off hiackers, pursuing an armed gages snatcher, saving a child rom electrocution, and escuing a motorist from a 'lazing car.
