by C. Hyams • The television cameras were there to record Chris O'Reilly's double. The Leeds champion and runner-up for the national title last year, this young driver from Petrofina drove a best-of-the-day round in his class and in the run-off to clinch the local championship again.

Last year recognition of his success his Belgium-owned firm took him and his wife on a five-day holiday to Brussels and Ostend, but it is the thought of having another crack at the title which appeals as much as Continental travel. "I was so near to Mr. Tooze last year, I'm thrilled to be going again," he told me.

Four times to Bramcote in four years of participating in the competition is Mr. O'Reilly's proud record, but Leeds breeds such men. A. G. Townend (Hennebique Concrete Ltd.) won class E2 repeating his 1965 and 1966 successes and past F2 winner R. Handforth (Shell-Met and BP) won again this year.

Leeds, as one of the oldest rounds, knows how to run a good contest and Sunday's was no exception, and everyone was pleased to see Mr. Hartley of Schweppes (Home) Ltd., who has served as a marshal for a decade, go with his drivers to receive the team award.

Because of too many clear runs in the past and difficulty in awarding the Roadmanship trophy, the road route was made more severe and only two drivers came through unscathed, F. Brownridge (Berm and Sons (Halifax) Ltd.) winning thls and the class El trophy.
