STRIKERS LOSE REST-DAY PAY: STRIKE AGAIN

MIDDLESBROUGH was again without corporation bus services last Friday. Crews staged another strike at the end of the early-evening rush hour on Thursday when their pay slips showed that, because of the token stoppage the previous Friday, they had not been paid overtime for work on their rest days that week.

Aid. W. Flynn, chairman of the transport committee, said trade-union representatives had agreed that the men did not qualify for rest-day payment, as they had not conformed to the normal working week.

Mr. S. Mason, branch secretary of the onion, said that the employees were not fully behind the strike.
