-Watford Watch Committee is to inspect more motor ambulances before making a recommendation for purchase.

Penzance Corporation Markets Committee has deferred until a later date the question of converting the cattle market into a parking place for cars on days when it is not required for market purposes.
At a meeting of the Blyth Corporation the borough engineer submitted a statement as to the comparative cost between team labour and motor haulage, showing a saving in the cost by the employment of motor haulage.
Penzance Watch Committee has reconsidered its report as to buses being prohibited from taking up or setting down passengers in the Greenmarket during the months of July, August and September, and now recommends that in order to lessen the amount of traffic passing through the town the quay committee be asked to consider the desirability of removing the centre-piece on the Ross Bridge so as to permit large buses to use the bridge.
At the meeting of the Woking *Urban District Council Bus Committee lists were submitted of buses which have been recently provided with illuminated destination signs and fire extinguishers. The inspector reported that the Aldershot and District Traction Co. did not appear to have made progress with the fitting of illuminated destination signs to its buses, whilst some of its route boards were confusing to the travelling public, and it is to be written to upon the subject. Messrs. Fox and lafessrs. Learn tind Renshaw are to be asked to see that fire extinguishers are at one provided for their buses. The provision of fire extinguishers will be taken into consideration by the committee when licences are renewed.

Bradford Corporation Tramways Committee has obtained sanction to borrow 117,020 for the purchase of twelve buses.
Felling Urban District Council is inviting tenders for the supply of a tractor and trailer for the collection of domestic and trade refuse.
Swansea Corporation has accepted the £524 1.0s. tender of Messrs. Fletchers Garages, Ltd., for a 2-ton Vulcan motor lorry for the health department.
Barnsley Watch Committee has had a letter from the Barnsley and District Traction Co. stating that it was unable to accede at present to the request further to reduce the fares on various routes.
(=Meg U.D.C. has decided that in view of the failure of the various bus companies on the Leeds, Otley and Ilkley services to agree to a working arrangement, all parties be informed that the proposed alterations in their time-tables cannot be approved.
At a meeting of the Weymouth Watch Committee the Town Clerk. reported that he had been interviewed by the proprietor of the Pioneer Motor Services, Bristol, who had asked that the coma mittee might reconsider its decision and grant him licences to ply for hire on condition that he does not set down this aide of Ridgeway Hill any passengers taken up in Weymouth, and that he shall not operate except from the Royal Yard. The committee decided that it could not see its way to alter its previous decision.

Hackney Borough Council Electricity Committee recommends the 1260 tender of the Pneumo Motor Works for the supply of two Trojan motor vehicles. • The Isle of Ely County Council has offered no objection to the proposal of the London and North-Eastern Railway Co. to use the Sentinel type of engine on the Wisbech-Upwell Tramway, provided that due compliance with the regulations as to the emission of smoke be observed.
York Watch Committee has revised the regulations with regard to the issue of bus licences so as to provide for the submission and approval of time-tables in respect of each service and propose in cases where bus proprietors are reported not to have observed the conditions, licences for a period of three months only will be issued, after whieh their applications will again be considered.
The Corporation Property Committee of Carlisle has considered the question of the laying-out of a motor parking ground in the vicinity of the Town Hall and asked the city surveyor to submit a report as to the suitability of the vacant land at the corner of Rickergate and East Tower Street, and the site of the property acquired by the corporation in Finkle Street for demolition purposes.
Bradford Corporation Tramways Committee has considered particulars, submitted by the general manager, of bus fares charged in other Yorkshire cities and towns, and decided to recommend that the fares. to be charged by private bus owners operating in the city be fixed at Id. above the current tram faxes. The watch committee, however, are unable to make any alteration in the fares prescribed in regard to licencea already issued for the current licensing year.
