The inspector reported that the Aldershot and District Traction Co. did not appear to have made progress with the fitting of illuminated destination signs to its buses, whilst some of its route boards were confusing to the travelling public, and it is to be written to upon the subject. Messrs. Fox and lafessrs. Learn tind Renshaw are to be asked to see that fire extinguishers are at one provided for their buses. The provision of fire extinguishers will be taken into consideration by the committee when licences are renewed.

York Watch Committee has revised the regulations with regard to the issue of bus licences so as to provide for the submission and approval of time-tables in respect of each service and propose in cases where bus proprietors are reported not to have observed the conditions, licences for a period of three months only will be issued, after whieh their applications will again be considered.

The Corporation Property Committee of Carlisle has considered the question of the laying-out of a motor parking ground in the vicinity of the Town Hall and asked the city surveyor to submit a report as to the suitability of the vacant land at the corner of Rickergate and East Tower Street, and the site of the property acquired by the corporation in Finkle Street for demolition purposes.

The watch committee, however, are unable to make any alteration in the fares prescribed in regard to licencea already issued for the current licensing year.
