Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

T refer to Steve McQueen's l'Class of 94' relating to the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) work being done by Cornwall Training and RSL for Exel Logistics (CM 945 June).

In case your readers conclude that RSL (ex Road Transport Industry Training Board) is now running the industry's training again, I think it should be made clear that the transport industry NVQs are produced solely by the Road Haulage & Distribution Training Council. RSL is now an independent training company though it holds the old RTITB funds and assets in trust for the transport industry.

The council, comprising representatives from the Road Haulage Association, Freight Transport Association and the British Association of Removers, developed these standards in consultation with a wide cross-section of the road transport industry and the Royal Society of Arts which was the original awarding body. RSL has been accepted by the council as a second awarding body. Other organisations will take up the same status.

Training standards and their establishment are, however, entirely the prerogative of the Road Haulage Distribution Training Council which created them_ John Coates, Coates (HGV Services), Leicester.
