Hauliers this week began a Parliamentary campaign to stop toll hikes on the Humber Bridge, telling MPs that tolls on the crossing must be slashed.
A petition from the North-East area of the Road Haulage Association was delivered to the House of Commons on Monday (18 July).
The petition protests against plans by the Government and Humber Bridge Board to link future toll rises to inflation.
Hauliers in the area soy they ore already paying too much for a crossing—currently £10.90 each way— and that as a result, the 2km bridge is under-used. The RHA wants tolls for trucks to drop to below £5.
