THE FORECAST of Ministerial support for a move to encourage night deliveries to High Street shops (COMMERCIAL MOTOR, June 30) has been confirmed with the announcement of a meeting on July 31 at County Hall, London. Mrs. Castle will then meet the Transport Co-ordination Council of the Greater London Council and representatives from the Food Manufacturers' Federation, Supermarket Association, Multiple Shops Federation and the Wholesalers Federation.

It is understood that the little Neddy for Distribution, under Sir Hugh Weeks' chairmanship, is actively behind this new initiative, increasing the likelihood of a viable national plan for night deliveries.
