Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Special 6 x 4 Heavy Tractor for Australia

PRODUCED to the requirements of the Southern Electricity Authority, Queensland, Australia, a new Atkinson tractive unit incorporates features of the company's heavy-duty Omega model and of the lighter 50-ton bonneted tractor.

Designed to deal with 110-ton loadings on gradients of up to 1-in-5, it is a six-wheeled design with two driven axles and carries a Darlington 70 winch with a pull of up to 50,000 lb. The design is known as the T. 1366 RRA, and only the chassis of the prototype is to be exported, it being arranged that the entire trailing equipment shall be fitted in Australia. Whilst the chassis itself follows the lines of the Omega, the cab and bonnet are similar to those of the lighter tractor. The power unit is the RollsRoyce C6.TFL turbocharged 335b.h.p. diesel, with a 20-in, fluid coupling and Self-Changing Gears RV30 air-operated eight-speed gearbox. Unlike the Omega, the new model has no auxiliary box. The layout has been so arranged that front-axle drive can readily be incorporated if desired by the purchaser.

Omega-type Bogie The rear bogie is a Kirkstall assembly of the Omega type, with a rated

capacity of 24 tons at the ground. The chassis is designed for use with 11.0020-in. tyres all round, with twin wheels at the rear, and this equipment will be provided for the unit on arrival in Australia.

Dimensions

Wheelbase measurement is 15 ft. 6 in. and the overall width is 8 ft. 0.1. in. The overall length of the tractor chassis is 23 ft. 1 in.

Air brakes operate on all wheels, a dual braking system being employed, with separate circuits for the front and rear brakes.

A twin-line system is provided for the trailer brake connections. Operation of the hand brake is air-pressure assisted.

Glass Fibre Used

Glass fibre is largely used for the cab, which is supplied with an aluminium sun vjsor of ample size. Twin fuel tanks giving a total capacity of 100 gallons are located, one on each side, beneath the cab. A pressurized radiator is employed in this particular design.

At the rear of the cab is a Kennedy and Kempe one-man operated spare wheel carrier.
