Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WE ARE establishing a fighting fund to help get a haulier into Parliament in the upcoming General Election.

Peter Carroll (pictured), long-associated with Seymour Transport, and one of the people behind the Gurkha campaign, made famous by Joanna Lumley, is standing as a candidate in Maidstone and the Weald.

Carroll has put a lot of his own money into the project, but there is a £15,000 shortfall.

Jim Dodd of Dodd's Transport and I, are donating £500 each from our respective businesses We can barely afford to do this, but we believe our industry will continue to suffer unless there is at least one MP who understands our problems.

We've had enough of struggling year in, year out to get a politician of any party to take our industry seriously.

For too long we have relied on the 'paid' leadership of our trade associations to further our cause.

I remain supportive of these bodies — but we need more. As an MP, Carroll can take our battle right to the heart of the government.

Carroll has been a prominent Liberal Democrat for many years and he will stand under that banner. We know him to be an independent-minded and clear-thinking man who wants to solve problems Of course, there are no guarantees that he will win his seat, but our industry needs a champion in Parliament. and Jim Dodd and I are backing him.

Please, if you care about our industry and can afford any sum of money, please contact me to help make sure we put one of our own in Parliament.
