Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Iveco has developed a 12% more powerful 351kW (470hp) version of its 8210 13.8-litre inline six engine. Its previous maximum output was 313kW (420hp). Torque is up by 9.5% to 2080Nm (1,5341bft) at 1,100rpm.

The higher powered engine will be fitted to the EuroTech range, due in April, and to the wider-cabbed premium EuroStar, scheduled for a UK launch in August. The extra power has been produced by using electronic diesel control (EDC) for the first time on the Iveco 8210 engine, which meets the Euro-1 emissions limits.

In EuroStar models the 351kW engine should match the performance of today's most powerful 17.2-litre, vee-eight-engined TurboStar, but with an engine weight saving of more than 250kg.

The vee-eight will be uprated for EuroStar to produce 383kW (514hp) with peak torque of 2,197Nm (1,6201bft). The veeeight EuroStar will also be the first chassis commercially available with ZF's AVS fingertip gearshift system; initially, EuroStar will be fitted with ZF's 16S 220 Ecosplit gearbox.
