Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MAN Y automatic signalling devices have from time to time been placed upon the market, and the latest to be brought to our notice is the Coxian signaller, designed by Mr. H. R. Williamson, of 42, Uplands Park, Enfield. This can be fitted to the dashboard, close to the steering wheel,

and, when not in use, hangs vertically at the side of the vehicle. It is designed to give signals which will indicate the intention of the driver to slow down or to overtake another machine. It can also be employed to

signal the driver's wish to turn to the

.e left or to the right, as well as to give the stop sign.

The Coxian device has only a few parts, the sign proper consisting of a metal casing, which contains an electric lamp. On each Side of this there is a glass panel. The metal casing is supported by a tubular bracket through which the leads of the lamp may be

passed. The bracket is attached to a drum, this being adapted to revolve within a cylindrical container, which is fitted to the dashboard. The device is operated by means of a lever which engages in slots in a sector.

Care has been taken to ensure that drivers of following vehicles are not inconvenienced by seeing the signal when it is not in use.
