BEFORE granting a new A licence for two vehicles to the Inters City Transport . and Trading Co., Ltd., Cumbernauld, on Tuesday, the Scottish Licensing Authority, Mr. W. Quin, warned the company's transport manager that the licence could be revoked if there were any substantial deviation from their statement of normal user.

Mr. W. Law, for Inter-City Transport, said it was an application to take over part of the haulage business of Robert Millar, Conderrat. An objection by British Railways had been withdrawn, following an agreement to continue Millar's general carriers' business in the Kilsyth area.

Mr. Millar, who Would be left with one B-licence vehicle for a type of business completely divorced from general carrying, had also given an undertaking not to re-enter this field.

Inter-City Transport had a large number of special A-licence vehicles which operated on trunk and tramp work all over the country, but they would give an undertaking not to use Millar's Vehicles to subsidize these services.

Mr. Quin said the company had a substantial special-A fleet and two vehicles on public A licence with a normal User for collection and delivery within 40 miles. He granted the application with a normal user of " general merchandise between Glasgow and Stepps, Gartcosh, Glenboig, Conderrat and Kilsyth."
