Clyde i land began last week. It is ex to cost £2.1m and will conth most of next year.
The bridge will remain while the gantry beams on ti side are replaced, so the vehicles that use the bridg day should be unaffected.
This work is the first pa £15m rolling maintei programme on the bridge scheduled to last until 2011.
The Erskine Bridge wa: pleted in 1971, and althou gantry beams have been re before, this is the first tim have been replaced.
