MONDAY

Its Christmas Day, and although most people are at home looking forward to their turkey and Christmas pudding I'm expecting my day to be hectic. I'm on call, which means I'm also at home trying to enjoy the festivities with my family—but the minute one of our managers or fitters needs a helping hand I'll be off to central control at Bloxwich, 8irmingham. We've got a repair and maintenance depot there, and others at Atherstone, Stoke-on-Trent and Didcot. For today I've allocated one fitter to each depot, with two on call at each site should there be any major emergencies. Although few people are making deliveries today, the roads are still busy with commer

z cial vehicles travelling back from yesterday's deliveries.
