GEOFFREY HEY has been appointed director and general manager of a new company, a subsidiary of Boalloy Engineering Ltd, responsible for the worldwide marketing of the Tautliner curtain-sided body system on rail and is the subject of a new trade mark Railiner.
The system consists of a set of load-bearing curtain and lateral tensioning devices allowing for an increased payload of more than 15 per cent over similar vans with the conventional door system. The curtains, manufactured from a PVC coated polyester woven base cloth with vertical sleeved straps every 2ft allows full side access and ease of loading on both sides improving versatility and turnround times.
Existing wagons can be converted to the new system. An insulated version provides for the carriage of perishable goods.
