Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Numerous inspections

THE committee inquiring into motorway service facilities intends to make numerous inspections of the facilities for drivers of commercial vehicles and others.

John Horam, Under Secretary for Transport, explained in the Commons last week that this would be done to reinforce the evidence the committee receives.

Japanese lorries

THERE had been no substantial imports of Japanese lorries from the Irish Republic, said Michael Meacher, Under Secretary for Trade, in the Commons last week.

He was replying to Mrs Gwyneth Dunwoody (Labour, Crewe) who had asked for action to be taken against Irish nationals who bought incomplete Japanese lorries and, by assembling them within the Community, circumvented the voluntary agreement between this country and Japan about the sale of lorries on the British market.

Dodge Drivers Club reformed

THE Dodge Drivers Club has been reformed with membership open to drivers and mates of any Chrysler commercial vehicle.

Membership is free and offers free £500 personal accident insurance, low-price holidays, free information and a free quarterly newspaper Dodge Drivers Express.

More details are available from the Secretary, DDC, Astral House, 17/19 Maddox Street, London, W1R OEY.

Better quality

THE QUALITY of Leyland vehicles is improving against an overall decline in British standards.

The average of faults on Leyland vehicles dropped by 6.3 per cent last year, while overall there was a 17.5 per cent increase in faults.
