It Must be pointed out, however, that although the General Conditions of Hire of Goods Road Motor Vehicles. as set out in RII/D/35, apply, they are subject to the following variations :—(1) Sub-paragraph (i) (d) of Clause 2 shall not apply ; (2) the second paragraph of Clause 4 will not apply.

As regards terms of payment, those in the aforementioned document will apply with the following variations :— (1) In Clause 1 : (a) the references to and interpretations of " laidup vehicle " and " working vehicle " will not apply (b) for the words from " the General Conditions " to the end of the clause will be substituted the following :—" The General Conditions and the Terms of Payment " mean respectively for the hire of goods Clicensed vehicles on period hlre.

(2) For the purpose of Clause 2, the rates payable to the carder shall be those in Sehedule RH/D/40, which are substituted for Schedule A of Document RH/D/35.

(3) Clause 4 should be read as if the following were omitted :—(a) The words " in the case of working and laid-up vehicles " in the first line, and (b) the words from " provided in the seventh line to end of Clause.

(4) Clause 5 should be read as though -the ward " statutory," where it occurs before the words "subsistence," and " additions " were omitted.

(5) The first five lines of Clause 8 should be omitted.

(C) In Clause 9 the word " seven " should be substituted for " fourteen " in thc second line.
