The parks committee of OXFORD Corporation recommends making provision in estimates for the purchase of a motor mower at a cost of about £100.

Despite a committee recommendation that the matter be deferred for a time, NEwronr (Mon.) Corporation has decided to buy, at once, a new fire-engine at an estimated cost of 11,000.

The general purposes committee of ENFIELD Urban District Council recommends making provision in estimates for the purchase of another refuse-collection vehicle at a cost of about £700.

The public cleansing department of Hula, Corporation is inviting tenders for the supply of two forward-control shortwheelbase chassis with hydraulic tipping gear. The chassis should be capable of carrying at least two tons. Tenders must be received not later than 10 a.m. on May 9.

Further to the paragraph appearing in our issue for last week, concerning the purchase of 12 buses by BLAcxeoor, Corporation, we now learn that the order for the bodies for the vehicles is to be divided between H. V. Burlingham, Ltd., of Blackpool, and the English Electric Co., Ltd., of Preston.
