• Newport Borough Transport has purchased eight Scania-based double deck buses to operate in the Newport and Cardiff area. The purchase brings Newport's Scania fleet strength to 73, making it the largest Scania bus fleet in the country.
The latest vehicles are based on the N112DR chassis and feature the Scania 1)S1119 196bhp 11-litre turbocharged engines and Voith 1)851.2 three-speed fully automatic gearboxes with integral hydraulic retarders. The double deck bodywork was supplied by East Lancashire Bodybuilders.
