Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HE Stacatruc, manufactured by the 1 Stockport Engineering Co., Ltd., is the latest British fork lift truck. The sole concessionnaire is 1.T.D., Ltd., 29, Palace 'Gate, London,' W.8. This machine, besides carrying a 2-ton load on the forks, can tow two fully laden 2-ton trailers.

A Meadows 22.4 h.p. overhead-valve petrol engine, suspended on Silentbloc mountings, is installed in the Stacatruc, and at 2,000 r.p.m. this unit develops 46 b.h.p. A Zenith carburetter is fitted. Unladen, the weight is 2 tons 16 cwt. The principal dimensions are as follow: Overall length, including forks, 10 ft.; overall width, 3 ft.; overall height with forks at ground level, 7 ft. 2 ins.; wheelbase, 3 ft. I li ins.

Transmission to the front wheels, which are of 20 ins, diameter, is through a Borg and Beck clutch and a gearbox providing two forward and two reverse ratios. Two levers control the gearbox, one for forward speeds, and the other for reverse. A maximum speed of 7 m.p.h. is attainable in a forward direction and 4 m.p.h. in reverse.

Lockheed hydraulic brakes are a standard fitting on this machine, as is Lucas electrical equipment.

The load is raised hydraulically to a maximum height of 9 ft. in 15 secs. Relief valves are fitted to the lifting gear to prevent overloading. The arms can tilt backwards 10 degrees in 2 secs. and forward 3 degrees in I sec. Two lengths of fork 2 ft. and 3 ft. are available.

For home sale the price of the Stacatrue is £1,080 ex works.
