Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Do you provide a standard driver handover package?

No. While we don’t offer a standardised driver familiarisation package as such, we recognise that handover quality is paramount to drivers getting the best out of their vehicle. To this end we run regular training courses for all our dealer sales staff, who generally have the responsibility to ensure new vehicles are handed over correctly and drivers are briefed appropriately. Dealers are also required to confirm to Renault Trucks UK that they’ve handed over all vehicles in accordance with a set checklist. Handover is free and takes an hour. Where does it normally take place?

Typically, at customers’ premises, although handovers at dealers can be accommodated.

Do you offer specific driver handover/familiarisation courses certified as a JAUPT-recognised/accredited course for Driver CPC training?

Yes. The ‘Optifuel’ Driver programme charge is £540 a day for a maximum of two drivers.

How long does the CPC course take and how does it differ from a ‘standard’ handover?

One day, which includes rational driving using Optifuel Infomax to compare performance before and after training, giving feedback and tips on improving performance.

Can operators buy a CPC-registered familiarisation package on existing (i.e. not brand new) trucks?

Yes. Through Renault driving training partner, CRH Transport Training.
